DAY 1 - Srinagar Full Day Sight Seen
Morning: Dal Lake & Mughal Gardens (3-4 hours) 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM: Shikara Ride on Dal Lake: Begin your day early to witness the iconic Dal Lake in its serene glory. A shikara ride is a must to experience the floating markets, gardens, and surrounding beauty. 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Explore floating markets and surrounding areas: Engage with local vendors on their Shikaras as they sell fresh produce, flowers, handicrafts, and more. 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Visit a Mughal Garden: Choose one of the magnificent terraced gardens, like Shalimar Bagh or Nishat Bagh, and take a leisurely stroll amidst the stunning fountains, flowers, and traditional architecture. Afternoon: Shankaracharya Temple & Old City (3-4 hours) 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM: Shankaracharya Temple: Head to Shankaracharya Hill to visit the ancient Shiva temple. The trek up is rewarding with panoramic views of Srinagar and the Kashmir Valley. Note that cameras and phones are not allowed inside. 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Lunch: Enjoy a traditional Kashmiri Wazwan at a local restaurant or consider the street food options like nadru monje and seekh kebabs. 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Old City Exploration: Wander through the narrow lanes, ancient mosques, and bustling bazaars of the old city. Visit Jamia Masjid with its unique wooden architecture. Consider visiting the Shah Hamdan shrine. Alternatively, you can visit the Shri Pratap Singh Museum if interested in history and artifacts. Evening: Dal Lake Sunset & Local Culture (2-3 hours) 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM: Dal Lake Sunset & Local Culture: Enjoy a final Shikara ride on Dal Lake as the sun sets, casting a golden hue over the lake and surrounding mountains. DAY 2 - Srinagar to Pahalgam Day Trip
7:00 AM - 9:00 AM: Depart from Srinagar: Start your day early to make the most of your time in Pahalgam. The drive itself is scenic, passing through picturesque landscapes. En route Stops: Pampore Saffron Fields: If travelling during the right season (typically late autumn), consider a brief stop to see the famous saffron fields. Awantipora Ruins: Explore the ruins of 9th-century temples dedicated to Vishnu and Shiva, showcasing the region's rich history. 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Explore Pahalgam's natural beauty: Betaab Valley: Named after a Bollywood movie, Betaab Valley is famous for its breathtaking scenery of meadows, forests, and the Lidder River. You can enjoy horseback riding, trekking, or simply relax amidst nature. Aru Valley: Explore the Aru Valley, known for its lush meadows, alpine trees, and opportunities for horse riding and trekking. Lidder River: You can enjoy the serene beauty of the Lidder River, which flows through the valley. It's a popular spot for trout fishing and picnicking. DAY 3 - Morning: adventure & panoramic views (3-4 hours)
8:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Travel to Gulmarg: Begin your day early with a scenic drive from Srinagar to Gulmarg, which takes around 2-3 hours. 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM: Gulmarg Gondola (Phase 1): Experience the world's second-highest and second-longest cable car ride. The first phase takes you from Gulmarg Resort to Kongdoori Station, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM: Explore Kongdoori & Enjoy Snow Activities: At Kongdoori, you can enjoy various snow activities like sledding or simply soak in the mesmerizing snow-covered landscapes. Optional: Consider taking the Gulmarg Gondola Phase 2 to Apharwat Peak (weather permitting) to reach an altitude of approximately 12,300 feet for even more panoramic views and potential skiing or snowboarding opportunities. However, this will add to your time and may not be feasible if time is a constraint.
